Privacy Officer Course: Duties and Practice (Online)
The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present this 90-minute seminar designed to equip organizations with a practical understanding of Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act 2016 (as amended, “PIPA”) and how to meet its ongoing compliance requirements.
This session will review both the personal information use restrictions and allowance rules, as well as the administrative compliance obligations under PIPA. Attendees will also receive a detailed “Internal Review” Compliance Checklist, an essential tool for maintaining effective privacy governance within their organization.
An important feature of this seminar will be the interactive discussion segment, where participants are encouraged to share their own PIPA compliance challenges and questions for consideration by the course leader. The presentation slides and compliance checklist will be made available exclusively to registered attendees.
The program will be delivered by Duncan Card, Partner and Head of the Privacy Practice at Appleby Bermuda. Duncan is widely recognized as one of Bermuda’s leading privacy lawyers and is a frequent contributor to The Royal Gazette on issues relating to PIPA, technology contracts, and outsourcing transactions.
