Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) - The Essentials
Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) which was passed in 2016 will become fully effective on January 1, 2025. During this transition period, organizations are expected to put the technical and operational measures in place to become fully compliant with the Act. Quite a number of entities have not yet begun their journey towards compliance. In fact, many of you have articulated that you are not sure where to begin. In an effort to support organizations with bridging this knowledge gap, The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a series of sensitization sessions on the growing importance of data privacy, with a specific focus on implications for businesses in Bermuda.
We extend an invitation to all members to join us for one of these insightful sessions in which Symptai Consulting, a leading data privacy and cyber security firm in the region, will share their expertise on data privacy compliance from across other jurisdictions. At the end of the session, you will walk away with valuable insights into navigating the evolving landscape of data privacy regulations and ensuring that your organization is well-prepared for the upcoming changes.
