SUMMARY:Cybersecurity Regulations Overlap: The Essential Compliance Guide -November 21\,2025 (Online)
DESCRIPTION:The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present Cybersecurity Regulations Overlap: The Essential Compliance Guide. \n\n\n\nThe threat of cyberattack against the private and public sectors is growing rapidly\, and law makers and regulators have recently launched several strategies to address those mounting risks. Today\, all healthcare providers\, telecommunications enterprises\, Bermuda's energy producer and distributor\, all aspects of the Government\, and all regulated financial service providers are now subject to both: the Personal Information Protection Act 2016's ("PIPA") duties and obligations of compliance\, including IT security\; and\, (2) either the Cybersecurity Act 2024 (Cyber Act )\, or the BMA's related IT and cyber security Code of Conduct (Cyber Code). This 90-minute seminar will review and discuss the intersection of PIPA's protective safeguards and each of the Cyber Act and Cyber Code.\n\n\n\nAs well\, in the context of IT security and privacy\, this seminar will also address the growing regulatory demands for business resiliency\, outsourcing service security\, and digital transformation (including AI) that are related to both security and corporate governance. This seminar will be of interest to all Privacy Officers\, CISOs\, in-house counsel\, CIOs and CTOs\, compliance managers and professionals\, and all information and data security managers\, among others.\n\n \n\nThe seminar will be led by Duncan Card\, Partner and Head of the Privacy Practice at Appleby Bermuda. Duncan is widely regarded as one of Bermuda's leading privacy law experts and is a frequent contributor to The Royal Gazette on matters relating to PIPA\, technology contracts\, and outsourcing transactions.
